ELO Rating System
How It Works
- Every player has an ELO rating (starting around 1200)
- Winning increases your rating
- Losing decreases your rating
- The amount depends on opponent's rating
Rating Changes
| Result vs Higher Rated | Rating Change |
|---|---|
| Win | Large increase |
| Lose | Small decrease |
| Result vs Lower Rated | Rating Change |
|---|---|
| Win | Small increase |
| Lose | Large decrease |
Matchmaking Impact
- Queue tries to match similar ratings
- Very different ratings = faster games but uneven matches
- Close ratings = competitive matches
Team Matchmaking (TOTT)
Solo Queue
- Join alone
- Get matched with a random teammate
- Play against another pair
Duo Queue
- Queue with a friend
- Stay together as teammates
- Play against another pair
Mixed Queue
- May match solos with duos
- Fair team composition attempted
Connection and Stability
Before Queuing
- Ensure stable internet connection
- Avoid starting downloads
- Close bandwidth-heavy applications
During Match
- Disconnections may forfeit the match
- Brief disconnects might allow reconnection
- Intentional disconnection is unsportsmanlike
Gold Wagers
Many game modes support gold wagers for competitive play:
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Maximum wager | 5,000 gold |
| Minimum level | Level 5 required |
| Disconnect | Forfeits wager to opponent |
| Draw | Wagers returned to both players |
How it works:
- Host sets a wager amount when creating a game
- The wager is shown as a gold badge on the game listing
- Guest confirms before joining (a confirmation dialog appears)
- Both players' gold is held in escrow when the game starts
- Winner receives the full pool (both wagers combined)
Wagering is available in TTE, OTT, TTW, and Chinchirorin.
Match Settings
Depending on the mode, you might configure:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Rules | Which special rules are active (TTE, OTT, TOTT) |
| Timer | Time limit per turn |
| Deck | Which of your decks to use |
| Wager | Gold amount to bet on the match (level 5+) |
| Difficulty | AI difficulty level (AI matches only) |
