Triple Triad Extreme (TTE)
Triple Triad Extreme is the flagship game mode - a strategic card battling game played on a 3x3 grid.
How to Play
Objective
Capture more cards than your opponent by the end of the match.
Game Setup
- Each player selects 5 cards from their deck
- A 3x3 board is displayed
- Players take turns placing one card at a time
- The player who goes first is determined randomly (or by coin flip in some modes)
Placing Cards
- On your turn, select a card from your hand
- Click an empty space on the board to place it
- Your card will attempt to capture adjacent enemy cards
Card Capture
Each card has 4 values (Top, Right, Bottom, Left) ranging from 1-10 (with A=10).
When you place a card:
- Compare your card's value on each side to the adjacent enemy card's opposing value
- If your value is higher, you capture that card (it changes to your color)
- Example: Your card has Right=7, enemy card has Left=5. You capture the enemy card.
Winning
After all 9 spaces are filled:
- Count all cards of your color (on board + in hand)
- The player with more cards wins
- Ties are possible
Game Rules (Optional)
TTE supports various optional rules that add strategic depth:
| Rule | Description |
|---|---|
| Same | If your card's values match two or more adjacent cards' opposing values, capture them all |
| Plus | If the sum of touching values equals the same total on multiple sides, capture those cards |
| Combo | Cards captured by Same/Plus can trigger chain captures |
| Elemental | Board spaces have elements that boost/reduce card values |
| Sudden Death | On a tie, play continues with captured cards |
| Random | Your hand is randomly selected from your deck |
| Order | You must play cards in the order they appear in your hand |
| Chaos | Your opponent chooses which card you play |
| Reverse | Lower values win instead of higher |
| Fallen Ace | Aces (10) can be beaten by 1s |
| Ascension | Card values increase by 1 each turn |
| Descension | Card values decrease by 1 each turn |
| Swap | Players swap one card before the match |
